I'm preparing to change spark plugs. Does it matter which brand you get?? This seems to be much debated. Can it even make a difference???

Here's what I've heard so far:
1: AC Delco Rapid Fire: Great Plug, last for a long time.
2: Bosch Platinum 4: Everybody that has had this one tell's me its the best. But it's kinda pricey
3: NGK TR55: Highly recomended, cheap, but I hear they don't last long.

I still can't quite seemd to make up my mind <img src="gr_sad.gif" border="0"> What are your experiences with different spark plugs (pros/cons plz)?? What do you guys recomend. Thanks for your help!!!!

i run autolites .99 each <img src="gr_grin.gif" border="0">
most on here will say ngk, they run just like autolites..

i never look to gain hp with plugs.. money better spent elsewhere

anything will be much better than the stock ones

 

I'd give you feedback but I haven't installed the Bosch +4 plugs I bought yet. <img src="gr_emb.gif" border="0">

The NGKs are also good, I have heard they are a good replacement for the stock units.

Like someone else said here, don't look for horsepower out of plugs, but change them for the sake of changing them like you should.

 

Platinum is not ideal for power. Copper is better for that as it conducts better, hence I don’t like platinum plugs in performance cars. The only advantage that platinum has over copper is longer life. An NGK TR55 should last 20,000 to 30,000 miles depending on your type of driving and habits.
