**I did a bunch of searches and haven't been able to find the answer I need. I would like to get it from people who race.**
My car is appart now (waiting for new axles, recoated FLP headers and Y pipe) and I figured I would change the Denso plugs out since they have 18,000 on them.
I have bolt ons and a 218/224/114 com cam. I am putting 374 RWHP and 374 RWTQ. Do I need/should I go to a cooler range plug? or should I go to a TR55? I have 2 boxes of Autolite 104s from my LT1 that were never used.
How about the gap? I read some stuff about closing it as you have more hp.
Thanks

You don’t really need colder plugs unless you’ve got FI or Nitrous, or if you’re in a really hot climate and have knock retard issues (colder plugs have helped some with this condition, but not all).
If none of the above apply, then just get TR55s (stock heat range) as they will last longer (probably 10,000+ miles longer) than TR6s (step colder). I’d gap them around 55 or so.
