If you don't...then your car will be idling too low and want to die. Eventually, it will.

You can raise the idle by turning the idle set screw on the TB, or by way of a custom tune. The problem with turning the set screw is that if you raise it much more than 150rpm or so you will set codes.

It is very easy to adjust. The screw is a T15 torx. you will need just the small T15 bit, you can't use a screw driver or even the big bit because there is not enough room. I use the small bit with a 1/4 inch open end wrench. tape the bit in the wrench. Mine only needed to be turned about a quarter turn, but that will vary from car to car.
