Question Question on Oil Level

First off, I have searched - I've found lots of information regarding oil levels and oil control for road racing, but what about for street driving. I've seen several people mention higher fills instead of the factory 5.5 qts. 6.0 qts with and without the high capacity filter, even 7 and 8 qts.

Obviously, checking the level religiously should prevent starvation from low oil levels, but is it possible that the factory full level is a bit low for aggressive driving? What about aeration from exceeding the factory full mark?

Sources I've found so far:
https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthrea...ight=oil+level
http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/index.php?showtopic=1227
https://ls1tech.com/forums/generation-iii-internal-engine/169487-oil-starvation-under-high-g-loading-opinions-solutions.html

Again, I'm not road racing, just an aggressive LS1 driver like the rest of us, on street tires. What does LS1 tech think?

Default

If you are doing autox or rr, I would definitely run 7 quarts, even with the smaller filter. I ran autox for a little, and then ran on the street subsequently, with 7 quarts and small filter. I had no ill effects whatsoever.
