CC's 918 vs. Crower's LS1 Spring
From what I can tell the CC918 spring is an ovate design (H-11 tool steel, I believe). It seems to be about an 1/8th of an inch taller uncompressed and has no inner dampner (due to the design). It also seems to be a couple grams lighter although I cannot verify this without an accurate scale. I purchased the CC Ti retainers for this new combo (they fit the stock LS1 spring size also) from Cartek. Everything looks great. Should be installed by next Monday (Jan 14th).
The Crower springs now. Complete ****. Lasted about 8K miles before one of the inner dampners on the #5 intake broke and tried to coil bind the valve. I caught it in time, thank God. I had to buy the Ti retainers to fit the Crower valvesprings so that whole package was almost $500 when I got it about 9 months ago. What a waste of money.
Anyway, I just thought people would be interested in seeing a comparison.
