Default Iron 346 for twin screw application

Looking at a 2003-2005 Tahoe/Yukon as a 'torque master' truck project. These SUV's come with an iron 5.3L block (3.780 x 3.622) and what I am thinking about doing is boring the stock block to make a 5.7L (3.898 x 3.622), putting in forged internals, and bolting on the Kenne Bell 2.6L.

I'm looking for a combination that runs very efficiently at highway speeds but gets downright scary when tromped on. This is a big blower and I'd like to up the boost, but would like as bulletproof of a combination as possible - longevity is desired as well.

Any comments, ideas or suggestions?

I'd say, forged everything, your choice of manufacturer. Depending on the power level you're looking for you could go with a stock LS1 crankshaft. What are you looking to spend on cylinder heads? Are you looking for an AFR 225 or do you want a set of PRC 6.0s? Sounds like an awesome sleeper to me. You will shock people at the track if you do it right

I would do a 370 iron block with something similar to the LS6 cam. That set up should be pretty stout.

I'm thinking that 750/750 to the rear wheels on pump gas with a broad, flat torque curve should be easy, given what I've seen this blower do already. For heads, I was thinking AFR 205's since they seem to work better down low than the 225's.

As far as cams go, I was thinking of using Lingenfelter's F/I cams as models - broad duration spread, relatively high lift, and wide LSA for low boost loss and stock idle. Perhaps something like a 215/230, .580/.580 on a 116 LSA.

I won't need a huge torque converter (or maybe a TC at all) as this blower pours on full boost at 1500RPM.

You're right about it being a sleeper, that's my style. First thing I did when I got this vehicle was remove the SS badges in the dealer vehicle bay where they were taking the plastic off the seats. I have a feeling this is going to be a little more dangerous, though.
