Default Why would one cylinder run lean?

I had the spark plugs out for inspection today. #2-8 all looked good with a slight brown coating. #1 was clean as a whistle, no discoloration at all. I am thinking that #1 (being white) was running lean. This would explain why the engine feels a little off balance and the slight pinging I hear at low RPMs. Maybe just one cylinder is running lean? What would do this? Is there anything that I can do to check/clean the fuel injectors (now running some used SVO 30# injectors that I bought used from a guy on LS1.com). Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you suspect it's the injectors, but not sure, why don't you swap the injector to another cylinder and see if the problem reoccurs on that cylinder. If so, I would send them to get cleaned up and balanced.

Injector, injector O-ring, or (far less likely) intake manifold vacume leak.

Is the plug itself white?
If that is the case it sounds like their is coolant in the combustion chamber.
