LS1Edit tuning. How “liberal” is it?
Here’s the deal. I don’t really want to go through send the PCM to Texas again, and I’ve heard that a local tuner (Zap PCM) also has the unlimited user LS1 Edit programming now. I’m wondering if I can have Zap make these minor changes with their LS1 edit, or do I have to send the puter back to MTI? MTI already did all the in-depth stuff like the B1 specific tuning and all, the only thing I might want to change is shift point and idle rpm. I would e-mail Zap, but their website is down and I don’t know how else to contact them.
So what do you guys think? Can more than one LS1 edit shop mess with your PCM and not have to start over?
Of course. Any shop can touch that pcm. Why would ls1 edit care?

That seems simple! I guess I was just concerned that it might be difficult for more than one shop to mess with the same PCM without starting from scratch. I don’t totally understand what is involved in performing a custom tune (programming wise), hence my asking this question.

Anyone else have an opinion or experience in this area?

And he shouldn't have a problem reading out the program that MTI did for you, and then making adjustments.
