Which cam will help out better?? I currently have the MMS 224v3 cam in my 346. it's a 224/224 .566/.566 114. I am about to go to an ARE 382 all bore engine and was wondering if a 226/236 .556/.572 on a 112 ls cam will make me more power or not much over my current cam. The motor will be built for about a 200 shot and i would need it to pass emmissions in illinois when I move down there next year. any comments or suggestions? thanks <img src="graemlins/camaro.gif" border="0" alt="[Chevrolet]" />
Re: Which cam will help out better?? If you are concerned about emissions testing, keep the current 224/224 cam. I seriously doubt that 226/236 112 cam will pass. My T1 (221/221 112) barely passed emissions testing for the idle rpm test, but passed very well at the 3000 rpm test.
The new cam you are considering would work better for nitrous of course, so you might consider finding an emissions test technician that can be bought off once a year with a crisp $50 in your handshake <img src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" border="0">
