HELP! radio in theft lock mode

HELP! radio in theft lock mode I bought my 99 TA about 2-3 weeks ago used. Today I finished installing my slp headers and borla and removed the battery terminal for the install. Well now the radio is in theft loc mode and I have no code for it. I have tried simple codes like 123 etc.. and it's not written down in the manual. I have no way of contacting the previous owner. Please help, the borla is so loud I NEED my radio... haha <img src="images/icons/confused.gif" border="0">

Re: HELP! radio in theft lock mode If there isn't any way to contact the previous owner, you will have to take the radio to the dealership. If your car isn't under warranty, you will probably have to pay to get it unlocked. First i would call and explain the situation and they dealer may be sympathetic to your situation. It will only take the dealership about ten minutes to unlock the radio.

Re: HELP! radio in theft lock mode Saw this posted on the other board a long time ago. I've never needed to use it, but a friend of mine says it worked for him.
1. Press and hold presets 2 & 3 for about 10 seconds until the first 3 digits of the display code are displayed.
2. Write the numbers down.
3. Press the AM FM button, write down the next 3 numbers.
4. Call 1-800-537-5140, when asked, enter 202107, press the “button” and enter the 6 digit code from the radio, you will get an unlock code, write it down.
5. Go back to the car, press the HR button and set the first 2 numbers, then press minute button and set the next two last numbers, press AM FM button, SEC should be displayed, turn on radio.
To remove customers code, repeat step 5. you should see --- on radio face, the code is now out of the radio.

Re: HELP! radio in theft lock mode The procedure J'sRamAir gave you is the same one I have. I haven't had to use it but I have seen other people post that have so it should work.
Did you have the car in the ON position?
Did you have the radio turned on so the display should work?
If so not sure why you are having a problem.
