Default metal in oil

I just changed my oil tonight (i use moble 1) and there was metal flecs on the plug... small enough to when i rubbed it between my fingers it just turned into a silverish paste

is this normal

this has happened the last couple of times ive changed my oil (both after a new cam)

Got a picture? It doesn't seem too abnormal but it's hard to say without pics.

I wouldn't say it is normal by any means, and it wouldn't give me a warm fuzzy feeling if mine did that (which it never has BTW). Almost sounds like bearing material...the only other common metal fragments that become stuck to the drain plug magnet are the needle bearings from the stock rockers.

+1 sounds about right. shouldnt have that problem. for the ls1 i use royal purple. but in the 350Z and gsx i use mobile 1. sorry to go off subject.

I've had the same sort of thing in mine before, but nothing was ever wrong with the engine. Like I said, some of that is normal in terms of a lot of people experiencing it, but it could also be something deteriorating.

sorry no pictures

also, when i pulled my oil cap it was a bitch to get off for some reason and there was some white/yellow gunk on it for some reason... which i presume to be anti freeze

what the hell is up with that? there was none in the oil
