Vortech 9lb on stock drivetrain/bottom end?
I have heard of guys going 30-50k miles running 10+ lbs of boost with no problems on piston rings or stock pistons, anyone have any experience with this? What about the rear end with the 3.73's and the tranny? I hoping I wont beat on it that hard..but theres a pretty good chance I will run it pretty hard anyway <img src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" border="0"> I never go to the track, and ill be running 245/50/16 nitto drags 24/7 like I do right now.
Really, I just want a fairly reliable setup. Right now im looking at the option of buying a beater so if the rear breaks I can still go to work. But then again, 2k for a beater = 2k for a rear. If a blower will let the rear and tranny last long enough (6-8 months at least) for me to get the cash to replace them, then would it be fairly reliable with a 12 bolt and an flp/yank tranny? im sure someone will chime in since lots of us on here have experience making these big amounts of power.
Thanks!

I think im going to go ahead and get the vortech 9lb put on, and start saving for an FLP IV tranny, talked to Mitch and Chuck over there and they are great people to deal with. That tranny should hold about 440-450 rwhp at least, now I just need to decide on a rear end. Anyone have any prefrence for a rear end on a blown fbody?
Thanks again
