Default Any benefit with going with a higher lift?

I am about to buy a cam.

As an example, there is the Comp cam 218/218.
IWas wondering if there any benefit with going with a higher lift on the Comp 218/218 cam with stock heads? I was looking at one with a lift of .562/.562. Also, seen them with a .527/.527 lift. Wouldn't the higher lift just cause more valvetrain noise and more stress on the springs? Thanks...

The faster ramps on the higher lift cam can increase the duration at the lower lifts and can improve power, even though there may not be extra flow at peak lift. Referred to as overlifting.

Is it worth it? Depends on whether you are trying to squeeze the last bit of power out at a given cam size versus noise and spring longevity.
