Default blown head gasket?

how else would you know if your car had a blown head gasket if you didnt take the heads off?

Coolant leaking, noise from cyllinder on compression stroke, blowing oil from excessive crank case pressure, compression test.

It's easy to tell right now with the cooler weather. Start it up and if you have more than usual steam from the tail pipes you've probably got coolant getting into the cylinder. That's how I knew on mine.

Oil in the coolent, coolent in the oil. Bubbles in the coolent. Burning antifreeze smell to the exhaust. Compression test.
