Grot Headers/Cats Ques. Well, Rodger finally shipped the headers, but still waiting for the rest of the stuff. What would be involved with using his y-pipe (if he ever sends it) without cats? Or, would it be better to fabricate a y-pipe? Thanks for any help.
Re: Grot Headers/Cats Ques. While I purchased his y-pipe, it's nothing special. If you want catalytic converters, I'd probably just order those separately and have a local exhaust shop fabricate a better y-pipe.
If you don't want cats, just get the O2 Sims and extensions. If you're having a custom y-pipe built, you could theoretically not have the bungs welded in and have the O2 sims mounted somewhere convenient. If you're concerned about emissions or about ever having to do wideband tuning, get the bungs.
