Default Why is my timing so low?

I autotapped my car this past weekend (thanks rom3) and everything was in place but i'm getting lower timing as compared to last summer. Nothing has been changed on the car since summer so why would I be getting lower timing in cooler weather? I do have the RFG tuning on the car but i'm getting little if any KR so thats not a problem. My misfires are of no concern and my O2s are good. The only thing I can think of is maybe my Borla which isn't welded up is rattling around causing false KR. Anyone got any ideas? As a note, I was getting 26 degrees of timing in the summer now i'm barely showing 24. Any ideas? TIA.

Dan

Welcome to the world of EFI performance. Hardly anything remains consistent for long, and you have to stay on top of the tuning. Your MAF could be dirty, air filter clogged, many many other variables.

is your car running any different??

I had my car dyno tuned with LS1 edit on sat. and my timin is at 23degrees...when the bumped it up to 25 I actually lost 4HP 6TRQ, so you may not be losing any HP.

Thanks Tony. Never even thought about the MAF or filter. I suppose the K&N could be a might dirty right now. So do you think theres a possibility that the computer is pulling timing due to the false KR/rattling exhaust theory?

The car is running great. I haven't lost any noticeable performance so maybe its just a slight tuning issue. If there wasn't 10 inches of snow on the ground i'd mess with a few things and re-test it.

I had some low timing issues on my car when I bought it but they've seemed to work themselves out.

Somethings I did notice :
HPPIII Tuning = +2* of timing.
O2s in .930 range = 18* of timing
02s in .880 range = 23* of timing
KR was maybe one or two instances of 1-2*

Maybe try the HPP3 tuning and see what happens?
