Default Need opinions on this comp cam grind

I was looking at buying the B1 cam but I found a pretty good buy on a comp cam thats close to the B1 it's 221/221 .561"/.561" 114lsa anyone have any opinions on how this cam would idle and be for a street cam and could you get away with stock programing? My SS is a M6 and my other mods are in the sig.

Sounds like cam im interested in buying, i dont plan on comp. tuning .But what are other specs on this cam, what makes it different?Does it have more seat duration than B1? This would make lobes less aggressive and less desirable, how much is it ?

Well I can't tell you much right now thats why I was posting, it is a comp xtreme energy cam and it sell's for $349.95 from internet racers supply but it's not on their web site but they told me they had it in stock but they do list a cam that has the C1 spec's 222/222 .566/.566 114lsa for the same price too. So I'm really want the B1 cam but this 221/221 .561/.561 sweems to be really close I'm just wondering what the extra lift would do and what any of the ls1 cam guys thought of it.

With a 112 LSA I'd imagine that it'd lope pretty hard. Will it make a noticeable difference to go down to a 114 LSA? Dan

Smokin joe, if you dont have any other details it is very difficult to judge against any popular cams. If your asking about gains from .561" to .566" there wouldnt be any. I think cam sounds like a good deal and most dynos ive seen say 112* and 114* make same power so i would go with a 114* LSA.

I would say yes, but most threads ive read say 112 is really noticeable with headers and cat backs.

yea I really don't have much more to go on but what they told me, they said there wasn't any difference in their grinds than any others and really I was wondering the difference between the 221/221 .558/.558 and the 221/221 .561/.561 grind. So since I don't have any other info as soon as I get time to call them back maybe I can get all the info on it.

220/220 114 or 221/221 114 will work fine in an M6 w/o programming. A bit of a lope at stock idle speed. Vey nice choice with 4.10 gears
