Default Oil pressure seems high

I have a 2000 vette. the oil pressure reads 112psi is this normal? I would have thought that if it is this high it is a good thing. I have been told that it is not.... any ideas? also I have the Ls-6 intake is this normal?

Your gauge goes up that high? Mine only goes up to like 80#. It could just be a jacked up oil pressure sending unit.

the gauge doesn't but if you look at the driver information center that is what it will tell you and it climbs to that once you start it

does it climb with RPMs still? That seems high. You dont have a knocking sound. When did you start getting this high of oil pressure?

Sounds like an oil sending unit. Is that were it stays? I don't even know how many of those I've replaced on vette's.

yes once it comes up that is where it stays. I will look further in the possibility of a sending unit.
