You will probably get a better response in the engine section, I'll move it there for you.

The LS1 puts out a squarewave signal that makes a V-8 tach think it's reading a four cylinder motor. The way I corrected for this was to buy an Abbott Electronic Ratio Adapter Box http://www.abbott-tach.com/era.htm With the 16 dipswitches, you can recalibrate your tach signal perfectly. Take your existing tach wire lead from the PCM and route it through this box along with a +12V and ground wire. Hope this helps.

Default Tachometer

Anyone have an aftermarket Tachometer working off of the LS1 computer signal.
I have a LS1 in a 1980 Porsche 911. I am looking for an after market tach that will work with the LS1 computer tach signal. Reference Toyjet in the LS1 Hybrid postings at this site to see the car.

Thank You.

ANY Autometer tach will work. There is 2 loops coming out of the back of the tach on Autometer's. The instructions will tell you which one to cut to make the tach read 4 cyl. signals instead of 8 cyl. signals.
