Default bassani headers finally in..

..in all it took me almost 6 hrs to install. i read somewhere here or on LS1.com that someone else did it in 4 1/2--that is amazing.
anyway, the passenger side went in from the top and required removal of the valve cover. the driver side went in from the bottom and required removal of the steering shaft. the y-pipe collector sits very close to the driveshaft and in fact, it has already come in contact with it after some driving around. i also went with the orp vs cats for now.
i have a spin tech muffler and i do not like the way it sounds. i did keep the flowmaster after i switched so i will be putting it back in this weekend. i think i like that sound better.
overall i did feel a bottom end loss but it does feel a lot stronger up top. it also seems to rev up a lot faster too. any input on this?
bassani also sent a block-off plate for the extra air pump tubing on the passenger side and they will be working on the contact issue btwn the y-pipe collector and driveshaft.
wheel spin is also a lot easier in 1st, 2nd and a chirp in 3rd. (yeah, i drive like i am 12)
i do intend to post some dyno figures and pics soon.
if anyone remembers, i scored some macs for $400 but they ended up being the wrong kind since my car no longer has an egr. (i knew the deal was too good)

More info please:

1. What size are the primary tubes?
2. Are these longtube headers?
3. Do they come with a Y-pipe?
4. Any online pictures of these headers?
5. How much do they cost?

Thanks
Tony

Hey nine ball try www.yearone.com/serverfiles/fbshopmain2.asp?cat=G . If that doesn't work just go to yearone.com for pics. They say they are long tubes. 1 5/8" primaries and 2 1/4" ball collectors, coated and they sell them for $599.

Yep, it's a mid-length header. I was looking at the pics on Thunder Racing's website. I'll bet the quality is much better over the Macs, but you can't beat the cheap price of used Macs! I'm interested to see the gains from them.

$1,050 ceramic coated with the CATs Y-Pipe...pretty pricey for midlengths.

OUCH! I'd spend the extra $200 for a set of LT's.

They claim to be longtubes, they're actually a mid length.
