Air Control Valve?

Air Control Valve? I was wondering if removing the air control valve on my 2000 SS is harmful? I removed that along with the AIR tubes to aid in the install of the ZO6 FRC's. It set the SES light 3 times each time I cleared it and now it has not been on in three weeks. Any Help?
