Default OK...I'm a Dummy!

Hi guys,
I need help with two questions.

Starting at the front of the motor (crank pulley)
how are the main caps numbered? Each cap is stamped
with a number from 1-5. I am not 100%
certain that I kept track of them properly.

Why the hell is it so hard to loosen the
crank pully bolt? I simply could not
make this bolt move. I even put a bar on
the ratchet for more leverage!
Thanks in advance,
Dave

My crank pulley bolt was a nightmare. I got it off after I put a 30" length of steel pipe over a 1/2 drive ratchet and put all 270lbs of my body weight against it. It broke loose all at once and I busted my a$$ on the garage floor, but at least I got it loose. Leverage is your friend.

Crank pulley is pretty tough the first time. Get a torque wrench capable of 250 ft-lbs. Worked for me.

A torque wrench isn't going to help get the pulley off. You'll need a breaker bar at least around 24". Brace your feet on the wheel for more leverage, and use some "gorilla" strength!

My torque wrench is 28" long. Took about 220 ft lbs- to get it off, but it worked. That was with me standing on it
