Re: need help! making spark plug wires......
They make proper tools but I'm guessing you don't have them. You're going to need a crimper that works with the wire and terminals you have. I have a couple, one you use a hammer with and one like a pliers. They both work fine, but the hammer one is a lot nicer if you have a vice. I use a NEW single edge razor blade and carefully roll the wire across a flat surface while cutting only 1/3 of the way through or if you have a way, clamp the blade so it protrudes the correct distance above the surface to cut almost to the center conductor. Do not nick the center conductor. Practice on leftover peices until you can do it perfect. Then gently pull the cut piece off. Usually you'll fold the conductor back and trap it between the terminal and the insulation. Sometimes they supply wire staples you stick in the end of the wire instead of stripping it, but I don't know if that's done any more. Figure out if you need to put the boots on before or after the terminals and if you need to put them on first, don't forget. Use a bit of soap and water if necessary to make it easier to slide the boots on.
And read the directions in the box. I only know about the ones I've made.
