Well on the SS the air is hot that comes through the scoop. Plus it is not a straight shot from the scoop to the intake. If you want to do something good you could seal up the air lid and install a FTRA.Fast-Toys-Ram-Air You can get it at Thunder Racing!

Josh, I agree.

I REALLY dont like the stock chevy ram air set up.

I'm not a tech, so any advice is appreciated.
It would not be that difficult to "completely" seal the air-lid to the hood-supplied air on an SS so that the only air coming into the box comes from the hood scoop. Is that a good thing to do? It come from GM only partially sealed.

Your better off sealing off the air box and doing a FRA or FTRA.
