Default piston slap

I have an 00 ws6 m6 with heavy cold start piston slap, I cant stand it so im pulling the motor next week end and im going to over haul it. I am a mechanic by trade and do all my own work. I was wondering if any had done anything other buy a new short block to solve this problem. I work for a toyota dealer and if I get a car with piston slap they always have worn cylinders. I was also wondering if resleeving my block is worth it. advise from anyone who has been throught this would be much appreciated

this should be your normal GM thought .... "Deal With It"

I have been driving FWD GM's for about 4 years now (all 3100 or 3400 cars) ... same problem with them ... i just make sure i remote start my car before i come out ... so the sound isnt that bad...LOL

But i know people with F-bodys and trucks ... who have the same piston slap ... and run bottles of spray every week ... and no prooblems

I guess it's hit or miss with fixing the problem

just my .02
