How long to build oil pressure???

How long to build oil pressure??? My car has been down for about 3 months with no oil in it. I just installed heads/cam/2001 oil pump, filled it with oil and put on a new filter.
How long will I need to crank the car for it to build oil pressure? I cranked it for ~2 minutes and nothing....
A mechanic friend of mine told me that sometimes you may need to crank the motor for 5-10 minutes when a car has been sitting this long with no oil...what do you guys think?

with small amount of vaseline or cam
lube to counteract air cavatation in
pump.You should see oil pressure in
at most 4 min. cranking and i would

Re: How long to build oil pressure??? Whenever I've changed cam/heads/oil pump/whatever I always just start the car up and it gets oil pressure within about 2 seconds. Never seems like its long at all....I'd say just do that.
