Default LS6 intake install: What needs to be done?

So, it is just a 100% bolt-on, or is there some other modifications that need to be done to make it fit? I’ll be using one with an EGR provision, so that’s not an issue. Anything else?

Thanks guys <img src="gr_stretch.gif" border="0">

Its relatively simple to install.

Just disconnect everything going to the stock intake (fuel line, coil pack harnesses, etc), loosen up all the bolts that hold it down, remove the old intake, swap the fuel injectors and fuel rails over, install the new coolant passage plugs on the back of the block, and swap the new front coolant passage metal line up front, and install the new intake. Takes less than an hour.

Do you think this mod is worth it on a mostly stock 99Z28...and would I need the EGR provision intake?
Thanks

Steps to install an LS6 intake:

1) purchase intake

2) call Tom Izzo at speed Inc. and have him do it! <img src="gr_grin.gif" border="0"> <img src="gr_tounge.gif" border="0"> <img src="gr_images/icons/cool.gif" border="0">

....still waiting for my intake to arrive <img src="images/icons/rolleyes.gif" border="0">

Are there any noticable HP Gains with the Z06 intake with some simple mods?? I want to do this mod but I have been thinking that it might not be worth it with my mods(in my sig) , but I plan on lots more in the future so would it make a difference??

I installed my LS6 intake last weekend and it took a little over an hour to do it..If you have big hands have plenty of bandaids to cover the sratches you will get..On my bolt on only car I gained .12 in ET and almost 2 MPH..Ran in similar weather conditions..Before the intake 12.62 @ 106 after the intake 12.505 @ 107.899...

The jmx site is the one I used for the install. It is straight forward and explains all the steps needed. Took my about 3 hours to do. If I had to do it again I could get it done in half the time as you learn the tricks.

Good luck, and again if you need help just let me know.

Its easier to not have to disconnect the fuel line...mine is always a PITA to remove and spills fuel everywhere. If you just pull the whole fuel rail off with the line still attached, you can just put it back on your new intake and never spill a drop. It's not in the way at all and saves a couple minutes....handy for those that dont have the disconnect tool.
