DO I HAVE THE RIGHT INTAKE? LS6 RECENTLY PURCHASED AN INTAKE MANIFOLD FOR MY 99 LS1. I TOLD THE GM PARTS GUY I WANTED ONE FOR AN LS6 ENGINE. I HAVE PART NO. 88894339 IN MY POSSESION. IT HAS NO EGR PROVISION. IS THIS WHAT I REALLY WANT? HE CLAIMS IT IS INTERNALLY THE SAME AS THE LS6, BUT SHOWS TO BE ORIGINAL ON THE 01 AND NEWER. IF IT IS CORRECT WHAT ARE YOU GUYS DOING FOR THE LACK OF AN EGR PIPE ON THE INTAKE?

Re: DO I HAVE THE RIGHT INTAKE? LS6 It is correct. You can also buy them with an EGR provision, but what you got was a factory LS6 intake that has no EGR (isn’t supposed to). Unless you get it modified to work with your EGR tube you’ll need to get a block-off plate. You will get SES lights like that though unless you get your PCM tuned to have EGR codes deleted.
