Default Quick oil pump question

Is there anything that seals the pump to the block? Or is it just a machined surface? I'm in the middle of my heads/cam swap and I changed my pump, and I just want to make sure i'm not missing something.

Both the block and oil pump are machined to be a very flat plane. These planes mate-up parallel to each other and the bolts apply clamping force. There is no gasket. This is pretty typical of oil pump designs, both the LS1 gerator style (inner and outer gears) and the more typical dual gear styles that have been used for decades.

machine flat surface, bolt it down and go. no gaskets or sealents involved.
