On Saturday my club www.easternfbody.com , had a dyno day at Extreme Motorsports in Jessup Maryland.
First my friends car: 2001 Camaro SS, SLP Maf, SLP lid, ASP crank and alt pulley, and custom cutout after the axle.
1st Pull: 331 hp 338 tq -- cutout closed
2nd Pull: 335 hp 342 tq -- cutout open
3rd Pull: 335 hp 341 tq -- cutout open
On his 2001 car there was only a 4 hp increase with the cutout open.
My car: 2000 Camaro SS, stock maf w/whisper ends, whisper lid, Hypertech crank pulley only, 3 inch flowtech cutout before the axle.
1st Pull: 324 hp 334 tq -- cutout closed
2nd Pull: 335 hp 346 tq -- cutout open
3rd Pull: 334 hp 345 tq -- cutout open
On my 2000 car I had an 11 hp increase with the cutout open.
I couldn't believe it either, everyone there was shocked.
Basically this post if for all of those people that think a Cutout is not easy horsepower and its Location is not Important.
Hope this helps,
Andy

I would have to disagree. Location of the Cutout seems to be the most important issue. The first readings were on a "Zed" cutout....after the bend over the rear axle and next to the muffler.....the second readings were with the cutout in the intermediat pipe before the rear axle. I have a Zed also and notice very little gain over capped. I was there and whitnessed this and have said all along that location is the most important factor. I have also seen this proven at the track many times.
