What exactly does the CPS reluctor wheel do?

Default What exactly does the CPS reluctor wheel do?

And please don't say it relucts the CPS!

It lets the computer know where the crankshaft is so that it can calculate when to fire the plugs and the fuel injectors. It also helps the computer detect misfires in and tells the PCM what RPM the engine is operating at
