what should i expect??
spring is coming up, so i cant wait until it gets nice so i can drive my car with the ttops off!!! i also cant wait because me and my friends are going to go to the track. i have a black 1998 trans am ws6. i went to the track last summer and my mods included borla, lid w/k&n and ran a best time of 13.44. Now i have descreened my MAF and ported it (which i hear is good on a 1998 for some reason). also i bought the slp short throw shifter and **** and i got lou's short stick. so what kinds of gains should i notice. i need a new clutch also really soon so i will have a new one by the time i go to the track next. i would also like to know what is the best/cheapest clutch i can get?? thanks!!!
You should've tried your question in the drag racing forum since you're asking about drag racing. <img src="gr_stretch.gif" border="0">
With that said, the only part you added that will make a difference is the ported MAF. It should show a nice gain on your '98 because they typically ran rich from the factory. A ported MAF will lean the car out which leads to more power. The quality of the port job will depend on how much power you gain. Also, it's way too hard to say what you're going to run. Will your 60' be the same? How will the weather conditions compare from last time? Will you be shifting the same as the last time out? The only way to find out is to just run it. Take your 60' times into consideration when comparing, as well as the weather, and watch your MPH. MPH is the biggest indicator of HP.

so does anyone know what i could expect then. maybe a tenth or two, i know i need to launch better that is my trouble. if i could get a good 60 foot time that would be great, but my trap speeds are 108 for 13.44, i think i should be running a lot better than that with those kind of trap speeds
