Default Looking for a good set of headers to match . . .

Well I've finally come to a rock in a hard place and now seeking advice from my fellow peers.

I'm looking to upgrade to a set of long tube headers around $500.

Current bolt-ons and parts include: NOTHING, lol. Actually just an aftermarket Flowmaster exhaust. 2000 Z28 Camaro.

I've done alot of the free-air mods, but nothing extra so far.

I'm looking to expand this car well into the 400+ rwhp range.

I am wanting to know what set of headers would you guys/girls suggest for the $500 range.

Thanks for all the advice ahead of time.

Who has new ones for $675? I've been looking, and the best I found was $689 @ Fast Toys.

I just saw Summit carry QTPs for like $688. A smoking deal on a smoking header.

I was going to suggest posting this in the external section since most header chat is over there. But you got some good responses here.

if your looking for a long term, quality header Pacesetters aren't it.mine have been on for about 2 years and the coating is almost completely gone and i blew a hole in the #1 primary tube.if you are tight on cash by all means get the Pacesetters(like me),but if you can afford it buy right the first time(kooks, qtp).good luck

I agree with the fella above. Wait, save a little more money. And do it once. If you get pace setters you will want something better on down the road like I did. I wish I would of save a little longer and got what I wanted.

I got a new set of QTP's off this board from a member for 900 bucks with the dual cut out Y pipe. I'm glad I went the extra $. Now I'm happy than a pig in ****.

Well I've been leaning on the Kooks set and also largely on the Hooker Jet-Hot if I'm going to drop the money, the only prob. I see is that going with Pacesetter ceramics and replacing them in 4 years with another set might be a better alternative than having the Hooker or Kooks and replacing after 6 years. Just some other things I've been reading about the header is just being used to free air and serves no other MAJOR purpose other than free'in air for the bottom/top end customizations.

Thanks for all the responses and if anyone has any additional responses, PLEASE, let me know. The advice has been great and I've been doing some extended research as well from the advice.

If your budget is about $500, you can't go wrong with coated Pacesetters. I got my headers and Y shipped to my door for 500. Mattering on where you live, and what conditions you drive your car in, you "might" want to look into a stainless header though.
