I have a strange one for you I have been using Valvoline 10/30 non syn on my car which has a new 383 H/C/I/TB. The car has been using a quart every 250 miles and the car has 4000 miles on it. The place that built my engine said that they think it is the LS6 valley pan PCV set up I put on my LS1 I was a disbeliever until we vented the tops of my valve covers with breathers while the car was on the dyno. The first pull it smooked like a freight train out the exhaust the second with the LS6 PCV caped off the car not only did not smoke but it picked up 15rwhp, 14rwtq so we made another pull and the car made 30rwhp, 26rwtq more than before. We stoped there with the pulls. Their is no oil coming out of the breathers and I said good bye to my oil consumption I have 300 miles on this quart and have used very little if any.

I think I'm having issues with my LS6 pcv as well. Gas milaege is down and the oil smells gassy when I change it. It never worked anyway, got just as much oil in the intake as the stocker did.
My car has gained similar numbers during ocnsecutive pulls simply by getting the oil hot and thin. Id say its normal. Try going with a breather setup if you dont mind changing your oil more often.
