ok i just got a 2003 lq4. stock static compression is 9.5 i believe. Would it be worth my time to trade the 317's for a set of 241's? Budget is everything in this build so i cant go aftermarket just yet. Just wondering how much of a gain ill have and what machining is involved if any to get the 241's to sit on the 4" bore.

No, the 317's will flow better than 241's. If SCR is your concern, then mill the 317s and run thinner gaskets.
