Default Help me identify this noise...

My friend's 2000 SS is making a strange noise from the engine compartment. It is not a ticking, but avery weird buzzing noise. Listen to this mpeg closely and tell me what you think. I have my own ideas I want to see what you guys say.

It's really really hard to tell from the audio clip, but it sounds kinda like the AIR pump hose is disconnected The only thing, is an LS1 AIR pump is electrical and won't vary pitch with RPM. So, I dunno man... Maybe the power steering is low on fluid? Does it make noise when you turn the wheel?

Take ur belt off and spin the pulleys. Sounds like a bearing to me. Was A/C comp on? When that goes bad makes all kinda racket. If you can't find it that way, take an extension(sp?) and put ur ear on one end and put the other end on the P/S pump, water pump, ect. NOTICE that you don't put on any moving parts 'cause it WILL HURT. The bad part will exspose it self. Hope this helps.
