Grey slug on oil plug???

Default Grey slug on oil plug???

I changed my oil yesterday and found a grey slug all over were the magnet is on the oil plug. Does anybody now what this is and if so should I be concerned.

I use Mobil 1 10/30 if that helps.

that means that your magnetic oil plug is doing its job and holding the small metal shavings from normal engine wear

Depends on amount you found.A small amount
is good. A large amount is bad, the kind
of metal found makes a big difference to
dull grey ( bearings) bad. Shiney Metal
is usually sign of metal to metal contact.
Beast advice save metal as you called
"slug" and get a second opinion <img src="gr_grin.gif" border="0">
