Default Would stage 2 heads be overkill for a smaller cam?

My car is used for a little weekend street racing, but when I do go to the track I'd like to break into the 11's with Nittos. My mods are below, the headers will be in the car soon. In a few weeks I'm going to order a cam package with the Comp 216/220 cam, it seems to be making some good power. I will have either a LS6 intake or a Holley. I'd like to see what #'s the Holley makes when guys start to port match them before I decide. With those mods and that cam would s2 heads really give me much more power over s1's? If they will make 15-20 hp more then that would justify the extra cost to me, but not if it's less than that. What do yall think?

Sure there will be gains, but whether it is worth cost will depend on who's S1 and S2 heads are being considered, the price difference, and your shift points. You can get 400 HP with that cam and a good set of S1 heads which will acheive your goal of 11s.

Do you have computer tuning with that cam?

Are you looking at SII heads with 2.055/1.6 valves or SII heads with 2.02/1.57 valves?

It seems like a set of SII heads with 2.02/1.57 valves would be a good choice with your 216/220 cam.

Is it worth the expense? For me it would be.

Just my $0.02.

I know when I asked Jayson at MTI about the differences with the B1, he said there would be a 10-15hp increase going from S1 to S2.

Now, whether that's worth an additional $800, I don't know. But, it would be nice knowing you wouldn't have to upgrade your heads anymore (unless upgrading to bigger cubes).
