Induction and Exhaust question
Hello,
I'm new to this web site and don't know much about after-market performance parts, so please bear with me.
I have a stock 2000 WS6 (M6)and would like to make some performance upgrades. Preferably under $1000 . I'm considering a cat-back system and an air box lid. Does anyone have any recommendations on manufactures and what kind of ET improvement can I expect? (I've already read the postings about the SLP dual dual system). I'm open for suggestion if someone knows other performance mods which will give me more bang for my buck.
Thanks,

IMHO 200.00 will get you a set of 3.73 or 4.10 best bang for the buck, with out spending to much money.
Lids run about 200 for the box and filter. and for gas mileage and quicker rev you could go with an underdrive pulley kit made by ASP or SLP

Thanks for the quick reply.
Do you have any idea how much my ET will improve with any of these mods (cat-back, lid, or gears) or all of them combined?

Actually I dont. I know that the gears will give the best "Seat of the Pants" feel. They claim that the lid is good for 10 hp. Notice I said claim. Also the pulleys are good for another 10 hp. As far as actualET times go I have the slightest idea. I have no access to a dyno and have yet to take my car to the track so maybe someone else could chime in and give you these numbers.
I do plan on going this summer though after I install my headers and cat back system.

Welcome to the site ! A lid, filter, catback, MAF Ends, and underdrive pulley are just the ticket and should be right around $1000. You should gain about .3 - .4 in the 1/4 mile. Gears would probably cost you around $600 or so including install but you would only pick up around .1 - .15 in the 1/4 mile. Seat of the pants feel would be about the same. With the first set of mods, you shouldn't lose any fuel economy and you'll get more performance. Unfortunately the underdrive pulleys are pretty much on back order everywhere - so it woukld be a while before you got one of those. Good tires for the rear will also help you on take off - this is an area where you can easily pick up a few tenths in the 1/4 mile if using Nitto Drag Radials.
Good Luck,
Mitch R.
