98 Heads VS. 99+ heads
in my opinion, you can't accurately guage the head on the car simply because the tolerances for building these cars was so loose. one 99 a4 car traps 107 stock, then an 01 a4 car traps 103 on the next pass...too many variables. i have never seen a back to back flow comparison on the heads, so i say that the heads perform the same on their respective cars in stock form. it's funny to see people switching 853 heads for 241s expecting to see a gain. i am not sold on 241s being any better than 853 or 805/6 in stock form.

Until I see some real evidence to the contrary they are all the same.

Verdad Gallardo my car had 853 heads on it. yes, full weight it went 110-111 mph in the 1/4 with bolt-ons @ 2,400 DA. this is the main reason i think the heads gig is bogus. my car went 14.1 @ 101 BONE STOCK, i blamed the heads for it being slow....so i added headers + exhaust (on the stock tune) the car then trapped dead consistent 109s bumping RL on the 2-3 shift.
the cool thing is, even the "worst" flowing ls1 head is still in contention with some of the "best" flowing sbc heads...hah.

Dumb Question but where is the casting number on the heads? Is it in the valve cover or along the outside of the head? I've never really looked to see what mine had, would be neat to know though.
I found it, it's on the passenger side head close to the intake on the front. There is a little flat spot with 806 stamped on it. Guess I got the shitty heads, time for some Patriot stage II's! Got to get my 4-wheeler fixed first though, damn I've got too many projects.
