Default Lq4 ?

I just bought a used LQ4 from a truck obviously. It had 180000 on it. I was curious if these engines can be bored, how much. If you guys have any links to engine builds off of the LQ4 HIT ME. Thanx

There are many LQ4/LQ9 iron blocks that have been bored and stroked and put into all kinds of LSx equipped vehicles as well as conversions. I am currently building a 408 CID Stroker with a bore of 4.030" and a stroke of 4.000" for my truck.

My advice is to have the cylinder wall thickness sonically checked before you do anything. You want around .200" on the major and minor thrust sides (left and right) of the cylinders and about .080" (minimum) on the non-thrust sides (fore and aft) after you bore and hone.

What kind of information are you looking for? What kind of engine are you planning?

Just a long block, no TB. I would like to try to do a S/S 408 or something like that. I've read some articles on different combos most of which yeild around 600 hp on the dyno. I thought of using it to convert my LT1 Z over but maybe I'll snag myself a 6 banger car for it. What kind of RWHP are some of you guys knocking down with 408's?
