Default Big Bore LS1

Im a former SAM student that is building a big bore, solid cam motor. Im in the process of sleeving the block right now and im a little worried. Ive heard reports of leaking from sleeved blocks. Other than filling the little holes to the water passages with JB Weld, what else can be done to guarantee no leakage?

Keeping the larger sleeves from leaking is indeed a challange - even the shops profficient with the big-bore motors occasionally get problems from leaky sleeves.

I think the only possible answer you may get for this is to contact one of the shops who is good at this (such as MTI, ARE, etc.) directly and see if they can help you. There *might* be proprietary issues here since doing this well *might* be a shop secret and/or there *might* be more than one way to do this.

Anyone else know?

Good luck!
