Default Question for Nineball.

Wassup Nineball !

My question is in regards to the HPP3. I have a 2001 Camaro SS 6-speed. I purcahsed the HPP3 several months ago at MTI in Houston and had them install it along with the 160 degree tstat. They put in the custom power tuning, 6400 rev limiter, fans at 160 degrees and rasied the top speed to 255.

Since the tuning, I noticed my car would smoke everytime at WOT. I didn't think it was the HPP3 and figured it was this oil consumption, faulty piston ring thing that everyone talks about.

Then for some reason, I just decided to bring it back to stock the other day to see if it would still smoke at WOT. I'm no mechanic but I figured the custom tuning altered the fuel spark or timing, which could subsequently be causing the smoke at WOT.

At stock,I got out onto an open road and just floored it a couple of times. To my suprise I saw NO smoke.

I then decided to reprogram my car without the hypertech power tuning but just do the 6400 rev limiter, fans at 160 degrees and the 255 top speed.I drove it again and NO smoke. I left it at this.

A day or two later, I was leaving the house and looked down to see my air bag light on. I stopped at a red light and turned my car off and on again to see if it would reset. It did and I haven't see it again.

My question is do you think the HPP3 was responsible for the air bag light coming on? Just so you know the light has never come on before. Also, if I were to completely remove the HPP3 programming would I have to change the 160 degree tstat back to stock. Will the 160 degree tstat hurt anything without the HPP3 or any sort of a fan switch? I just have bolt on mods to my car right now. Lid, exhaust, Y-pipe and underdrive pully. Future mods are headers. Heads and cam maybe later down the road.

Thanks for your time and any thoughts you may be able to provide.
