Default Cam Question

What exactly is an lsa? I can get these cams: Comp's newer 224/224 .568/.568 or 226/226 .570/.570...in 112 or 114 lsa.

I want the 224/224 .568 cam (this is from the gp section at speed demon) but what the heck is lsa?

I want a choppy idle, i got hooker lt's (not in yet) and yank st-3500 (not in yet). I am getting this cam gp next week....what lsa do i want? Is the cam i want nice too? Opinions and comments welcomed.

thanks.

Lordy that's a tough one, but I'll do my best...

First off, imagine the two cam lobes for one cylinder. The angle between the peaks of those lobes is the Lobe Separation Angle.

The LSA is a very important aspect of cam design. Go to Comp Cams website ( http://www.compcams.com ) and read their tutorial. If you still have questions come on back.

I'm betting you'll be better off with a 114 LSA for your A4.

LSA is a rough way of telling where your power is going to be in the powerband. Lower LSA's
tend to have more torque than higher LSA's, but they also have a rougher idle and need more
PCM tuning.
