I have a few questions regarding a cam which I'm finally considering as an option.

First and foremost...

Is it worth doing a cam without doing heads at the same time?

How much could I expect to pay to have a cam installed? How much extra to do heads at the same time?

How much horsepower could a good cam get me?

How much would it cost to buy everything needed like springs, retainers, etc.? And what IS everything that I need?

What kind of cam should I look to get? I don't care too much if it doesn't sound 100% stock - in fact I'd like it if it lobed a little bit at idle, but nothing too crazy.

I'd also like to avoid having to get any custom programming to take advantage of the cam, is this at all possible?

Please any help is appreciated!
