Default Replacement aftermarket lifters?

What aftermarket lifters do you suggest for a T1 cam with Comp 918's and hardened pushrods and a C5R timing chain. I know mine are probably fine but I want to cover all my bases <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

I thought you were staying with stock heads for now? If you really want to replace them you'll have to pull the heads just to get to them.

If you're dead set on new lifters go to Comp R's or new stock lifters.

The Comp "R" lifters will work fine, even if you don't neccesarily "need" them. The work really well in a high-rpm setup due to the anti-pump up design. I was using Comp "R" lifters, Trick Flow chromemoly pushrods, and Comp 918 springs/titanium retainers with the 226/226 .591/.591 cam, and spinning it to as high as 7300rpm on occasion with zero valvetrain stability issues. My connecting rods are a different story, though <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

You can't run too much preload on the Comp lifters. Comp really stresses using an adjustable valvetrain but I ran them in the last motor with about 0.030" preload and they were fine turning to 7200.

True, they don't seem to like a lot of preload. I ran shims under the rokcer rails and had about .012" preload which seemed to work well. They were a little noisier than stock, but not by a tremendous amount.

66, I will be getting new heads <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" /> . So the Comp R's will be fine?
