Quick cylinder hone question

Quick cylinder hone question I picked up a forged 347 yeaterday that has less than 1000 miles on it. the little miles were ran at the track and street racing using up to a 300 shot. I was going to put some new rings in it anyway even though the ones in there are pretty new. The cylinder walls look excellent right now. Do you guys think I should get it honed real good or will I be OK to just install the new rings like it is?

If it were me i would just run a hone brush through it (not sure of the technical term but it is sort of like a dingle berry hone except with strips of like abrasive sandpaper) just to deglaze the walls and make sure everything is smooth. If you are actually going to remove any material you should consider a tourqe plate (I have not tried it, but rumor has it that a worn out Ford small block tq plate will work).
