Harness

Does the Harness year have to match up to the engine/PCM year?

For example, if I have a 2000 LS1, do I need a 2000 Harness, or will a 99, or 2001 harness work?

I believe all the 99+ harnesses and computers will work. The 97 and 98 were different pin outs.
