How long before I can Rag on it?
I was installing a T1 cam on a 00' WS6 and a few things went wrong. At anyrate I ended up replacing the pistons, valves, resleeving it, etc. Basically rebuilt the whole thing and Thanks God the T1 was okay so I left that in there. I started up the car, and it was good. So I changed the oil, and ran it for about 50 miles, it was good, so I changed the oil once more witha about 650 miles on it. I changed the oil again and have about 850 miles on it. I've kept it under 2500rpm so far....
CAN I RAG ON IT YET????

Most rings will seal off good and bearings will seat good at 500 miles.... IMO they arent very safe till about a 1000 and then change the oil and then "RAG" on it!!!! LOL You might be ok where your at..... I have seen people take motor straight to the race track right after a build up and begin racing(after a good 30 minute 2500-3000 RPM period)
You should be in the clear.

P.S. I always like to over-do things e.x. having a 1000 mile break in period

For my ARE Shortblock & Heads/Cam, Nick told me to give it a few heat cycles and to take a cruise and cycle the rpms up a bit on part throttle. That and 100 miles was fine.
How many guys flogged their car during a test drive? I'm sure some managed to avoid it, but a lot of people do and the motor holds up.
