Default will i be disappointed with my T1 cam?

it'll be coming in the mail in the next couple of days and i've been waiting for about a month. now that i'm about to get it...i kinda wanna send it back and get a bigger cam. i've heard this cam doesn't lope very much and i WANT people to hear the cam. i expect 11.7 second passes from it along with my ST3500, ET drags, dynatech headers (no cats), and custom programming. do you think i'll get want i'm expecting? thanks

I think you will be disappointed. Cars gonna run like Crap without custom tuning. Your gonna have a hell of a time runnin that car with the stock 500 RPM idle these cars have. That combinded with the ST-3500 ='s lots of stalling.

Go out and spend the 500 $ for some good proper tuning and then you will be satisfied.

with your stock tuning:
you can only shift that car at stock points, not what the T1 cam likes.
your gonna get misfire codes
cars gonna run like crap, cuz of low idle

get that taken care of and im sure without a doubt you'll love that cam. Until then it will prolly just cause you headaches. good luck, and oh people will be able to hear that cam, dont be worried. and if your worried, just uncap your cutout(or get one)

I think you will be very happy. The T1 is a nice cam.. You will easily achieve what you want. I will be there with my stock weight in about a month.

Paul,
my bad then. I didn't read that carefully enough. In that case, yeah you'll love it then. Tuning makes a BIG difference in these cars!

The T1 doesn't lope?

It lopes plenty. Check these sound files of my old setup out:

T1 thru quiet SLP dual-dual

T1 thru open 3" cutout

NOw that is funny..lol! T1=no lope? I had to reply to this one.

The T1 has a really nice lope and is one of the best street cams made for these cars next to the B1.hehe

You may get more lope from more duration and less LSA but also get less power..

T1 no lope? nothing could be further from the truth. In a closed up exhaust, well, maybe its not going to sound like a race car but in a free flowing exhaust it should lope very well.

Disapointed? LOL, there are folks who are hitting over 400rwhp with just that cam and no heads!

You should be very happy with it. Adjust your TB via the hole and idle stop tab and you should be able to avoing most SES lights. They should only be evident when you idle for long periods of time.

Use the HPP3 for your shift points.

Considering your mods, that cam will more than do you up.

Dont buy into the "new fad" bigger cam B.S. fad that is prevalent on LS1tech right now.

In a nut shell, you bought a very well designed cam that will allow you to make the best use of a stock motors bottom end and heads.

You should be VERY happy.

Another happy T1 cam owner. With headers/offroads/hooker cat-back, it sounds very sweet. It definitely doesn't sound stock. 11.7's would be too easy with that setup. You should shoot for at least 11.5's.

Alex doesn't know Mack...I think he's only met him once.

Hey are you in the same complex as Mack, Matt? I might be around Indy this weekend if Mack isn't planning on working all damn weekend.

Love the sound files of the T1.

Anybody got some of the Hammer cam? I would love to hear them.

I run a T1 in my A4. I finally installed Macs....

Last night I ran 115 MPH, which might not sound all that great. BUT because traction was so bad the car was only running 90 MPH in the 1/8th, usually I run 92 MPH. So, if I can get the car to hook perfectly and eek every last bit out of it, I have a chance at 116 MPH. IMO, thats pretty good for a 3460 lbs A4 cam-only car with stock Macs....

I love my T1.
Friday night I went 118.48 with just
the cam and stock heads. I picked up
around 5-6 mph with the cam and LS6
intake. And it does lope pretty well.
Everyone knows you have a cam in there.
